Manchester City climbed to the Premiership summit as they beat Wolverhampton at Eastlands, with Carlos Tevez’s double outshining the debut of Edin Dzeko.

City boss Roberto Mancini reserved special praise for the Argentine, who seems to be finally adjusting to life at Eastlands.

“I am very happy for him because he scored two fantastic goals and took his goals very, very well. The first goal he scored was fantastic,” Mancini said of Tevez.

The Italian was also happy with Edin Dzeko, who was handed a surprise debut against Wolves.

“He played well,” he said. “It was his first game in 30 days and his first game with a new team, but he played well.

“He needs to improve and work hard but I think he showed he is a good player.”

City may not have been everyone’s first choice for the Premiership title but they are leading the race at the moment, so you might want to consider backing City to win the Premier League at 8.00 (7/1) offered by Betfair.
