This weekend’s Premier League action kicks off at the home of the champions as Manchester United host Newcastle United.

David Moyes’ men will be keen to make amends for Wednesday evening’s home defeat to Everton, which was United’s fourth in the top flight so far this season.

That loss – their first to the Toffee’s at Old Trafford for twenty-one years put the club twelve points behind league leaders Arsenal, who host Roberto Martinez’s men on Sunday afternoon.

Wayne Rooney misses out after picking up his fifth booking of the season against his former club last time out, while Robin van Persie and Shinji Kagawa are both doubtful through injury and illness respectively.

Javier Hernadez, who could come in for only his third league start of the season, is 5.5 (9/2) with Paddy Power to open the scoring ahead of Danny Welbeck, who is available at 7.0 (6/1) with the same firm.

The home win is 1.6 (3/5) with Bet Victor, with Newcastle a 7.5 (13/2) chance with Coral. The draw is widely available at 4.33 (10/3).

The visitor’s run of four straight victories came to an end on Wednesday evening as they fell to a 3-0 defeat to Swansea City in South Wales though a return to winning ways here would see Alan Pardew’s men keep in touch with the chasing pack at the top end of the division.

Papiss Cisse faces a late fitness test on the heel injury that saw him miss out midweek, though Hatem Ben Arfa should return to the match-day squad after recovering from illness.

Top scorer Loic Remy is generously priced at 12.0 (11/1) with Bet 365 to get the first goal of the game, while Yoan Gouffran, who has three in his last five outings, is a 17.0 (16/1) shot with Betfred.

United came from behind three times to secure victory in a seven goal thriller in last season’s corresponding fixture last December, and Bet 365 offer odds of 21.0 (20/1) for there to be over 6.5 scored this time around.

Alternatively, you may prefer to back a United victory with both teams to score at a rather more modest 3.2 (11/5) with Coral.
