Liverpool vs TottenhamFresh from the goalless draw with Everton in the Merseyside derby, the Reds take on top 4 rivals Tottenham as they hope to further close the gap behind Champions League positions.

Spurs seriously improved their top 4 hopes with an impressive triumph in the North London derby, but they need to try and take at least one point from the Liverpool game.

Liverpool spent the entire first part of the season searching for form and at one point it looked as though they won’t be able to mount a serious challenge for Champions League places.

Brendan Rodgers, however, proved his credentials by switching to 3-4-2-1 formation, and it was the change to the style of play that helped the Reds return to the right track.

While they experienced some problems in domestic cups, the Reds defeated Sunderland, Aston Villa and West Ham, without conceding, to climb to seventh in the league standings.

Liverpool ended the winning run as they shared spoils with Everton at Goodison, but can now be backed at 1.85 (17/20) to see off Spurs at Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers is sweating over the fitness of Raheem Sterling, Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana, but there is a chance all three will be fit to face Tottenham.

Meanwhile, Brad Jones, Lucas Leiva and Jon Flanagan are out injured, whereas fit again Daniel Sturridge is pushing for a starting berth.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-2-1): Mignolet – Can, Skrtel, Sakho – Ibe, Henderson, Allen, Moreno – Gerrard, Coutinho – Sterling.

Just like their next opponents, Tottenham Hotspur largely struggled in the opening exchanges, but things have since fallen into place.

New boss Mauricio Pochettino has helped the players restore the lost confidence and Spurs in turn revived their top 4 bid.

Tottenham won four of last five league fixtures to climb within one point of fourth-placed Manchester United, and it was the 2-1 victory over local rivals Arsenal that showed how far the team have gone since the start of the season.

Despite conceding an early goal, Spurs played with a lot of confidence throughout, creating a host of very good chances and eventually deservedly won the game thanks to another brace from red-hot Harry Kane.

Tottenham are now available at 4.50 (7/2) to extend the winning run at Anfield, while the soon-to-be England international is 3.30 (23/10) to score anytime.

With no fresh injuries to report, Mauricio Pochettino could field the same side that started the Arsenal clash three days ago.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Lloris – Walker, Dier, Vertonghen, Rose – Mason, Bentaleb – Lamela, Dembele, Eriksen – Kane.
