Sunday afternoon’s match at the KC Stadium sees an inconsistent Hull City host a Liverpool side desperate to keep pace with league leaders Arsenal.

After putting together a four-match unbeaten run, the Tigers have lost four of their last five games, and began the weekend just four points above the bottom three.

Manager Steve Bruce will go in to the game without defender Paul McShane, so either Abdoulaye Faye or Alex Bruce will deputise, while Curtis Davies should feature despite suffering from a minor shin problem and James Chester could be among the substitutes after missing the last two months.

Yannick Sagbo is 12.5 (23/2) with 888 Sport to open the scoring, ahead of Danny Graham, who can be backed at a price of 13.0 (12/1) with Bet Victor.

The home win is generously priced at 6.5 (11/2) with most bookmakers, with Liverpool widely available at 1.62 (8/13). The draw is a 4.1 (31/10) shot with Bet Victor.

The visitors began the weekend four points behind Arsenal, and go into this game on the back of last weekend’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Merseyside rivals Everton at Goodison Park.

Daniel Sturridge is set to miss the game with a sprained ankle, while Jon Flanagan is expected to continue at left-back in the absence of Jose Enrique.

Luis Suarez is unsurprisingly the favourite to get the first goal of the game, with Paddy Power offering a price of 4.5 (7/2) while Philippe Coutinho, who opened the scoring last time out, is a 10.0 (9/1) chance with a variety of firms.

Hull have never beaten Liverpool in sixteen competitive meetings, drawing four of those games and losing the other twelve.

One of those draws came in the shape of an uninspiring goalless encounter on the final day of the 2009/10 campaign – the last time the sides faced each other.

However, before this weekend’s round of games commenced, only Manchester City had scored more times in the league than Liverpool, so you may be tempted to back a goal fest this time around, with Coral offering odds of 3.4 (12/5) for there to be four or more in the game.
