Sunday afternoon’s game in the Premier League sees Chelsea host welcome newly promoted Hull City to Stamford Bridge, in the first competitive game of Jose Mourinho’s second spell in charge.

The returning Blues boss won six of his seven preseason fixtures , and is aiming to maintain his unbeaten home league record with the club in this season opener.

Andre Schurrle and Marco van Ginkel are both pushing for their debuts, while fellow new signing Mark Schwarzer will provide back up to Petr Cech in goal.

Cesar Azpilicueta and Victor Moses had long flights on international duty midweek, so may settle for places on the bench.

Romelu Lukaku may be handed a start having returned to the club from a season-long loan at West Bromwich Albion, and the Belgian is favourite to open the scoring at 5.0 (4/1) with Sky Bet while Frank Lampard is a 7.0 (6/1) shot with Ladbrokes.

The home side are firm favourites to win the match at a best price of 1.22 (2/9) with Hull as highly priced as the 19.0 (18/1) on offer from William Hill. The draw is 7.0 (6/1) with several bookmakers.

Hull City, who could have hardly asked for a tougher test in their first game back in the top flight, stuttered to automatic promotion last season failing to win any of their final four games.

Nevertheless, they are back in the big time and will be hoping to retain their status as they did when they made their Premier League bow five years ago.

Steve Bruce could give debuts to seven new arrivals; including record signing Tom Huddlestone and striker Danny Graham though Stephen Quinn misses out with a hamstring problem.

Graham is generously priced at 23.0 (22/1) with Bet Victor to get the first goal of the game, along with fellow new boy Yannick Sagbo.

Chelsea are unbeaten in five meetings with Hull, and are expected to start in style so you may be tempted to back them to win by three or more goals, which is on offer at 2.38 (11/8) with Sky Bet.
