Blackburn vs Manchester United preview

Manchester United need just one more point to clinch the Premier League title, but the Red Devils could face a tough task at Ewood Park against relegation threatened Blackburn.

Rovers have been on the downtrend ever since early February and their survival chances were dealt a major blow after the home defeat to Manchester City, but Steve Kean’s side have since picked up four points from next two games and now sit three points clear of the relegation zone.

Blackburn, however, still cannot afford to relax as they will first face leaders United at home before playing relegation rivals Wolves at Molineux, so backing Blackburn to get relegated at odds of 7.70 (67/10) offered by Betfair could go a long way.

Steve Kean should have Phil Jones and Michel Salgado back to the side, while Ruben Rochina is a doubt with a shoulder injury. Ryan Nelsen, Vince Grella, David Dunn and Keith Andrews are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-5-1): Robinson – Salgado, Samba, Givet, Olsson – Emerton, J. Jones, P. Jones, N’Zonzi, Hoillet – Santa Cruz.

Following the impressive Premiership campaign and their latest victory over Chelsea, Manchester United are on the verge of clinching the Premier League title.

The Red Devils managed to withstand the pressure after the disappointing defeat to Arsenal and they beat Chelsea in what was a true title decider, so nobody can now say Sir Alex Ferguson’s side don’t deserve the title.

Needing just one more point to clinch the title, Manchester United will be looking to do so in style, meaning that we can expect a very strong performance at Ewood Park.

With United in great spirits at the moment and Blackburn missing a host of first team regulars, odds of 1.75 (3/4) offered by William Hill on away win look like a real gift.

Darren Fletcher will play some part in this fixture as he attempts to build his fitness for the Champions League final, but Owen Hargreaves remains sidelined.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Van der Sar – Rafael, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra – Scholes, Carrick – Valencia, Rooney, Nani – Hernandez.
