Tuesday evening’s action from the Britannia Stadium sees Stoke City face Liverpool in the first leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final.

The hosts, who followed back-to-back league wins with defeat at West Bromwich Albion at the weekend, booked their place in the last four of this competition by beating Sheffield Wednesday last month.

Previous to that win over the Owls, Mark Hughes’ side have also knocked out Luton Town, Fulham and holders Chelsea on route to this tie as they look to win this tournament for only the second time in their history.

Steven Ireland, Marco Muniesa and Shay Given are all out injured though Geoff Cameron is available after the red card he was handed last time out was rescinded on appeal.

Bojan can be backed at 9.0 (8/1) to get the first goal of the game with Paddy Power, with Marko Arnautovic a 9.5 (17/2) chance with Stan James.

The home win is as highly priced at the 3.1 (21/10) with Sporting Bet with the visitors favourites at 2.63 (13/8) with Betfred. The draw is widely available at 3.25 (9/4).

The Merseyside outfit, who have won this tournament a record eight times also lost in the league last time out having won their first two games after Christmas.

After needing penalties to get past League Two Carlisle United in the third round, the Reds then beat Bournemouth before thumping Southampton 6-1 in the quarter finals.

Christian Benteke is set to lead the line with Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi and Danny Ings all out.

Captain Jordan Henderson, Martin Skrtel, James Milner, Jordan Rossiter, Joe Gomez and Jon Flanagan also remain on the sidelines.

Benteke is 6.5 (11/2) to open the scoring with a number of firms with Philippe Coutinho a 10.0 (9/1) chance with Bet 365.

The two sides last met in Stoke on the opening day of the season, with Coutinho scoring the only goal of the game late on to seal the points for Liverpool while the meeting prior to that ended in a 6-1 win to the Potters.

After scoring eight goals in their last four games, you may be tempted to back Mark Hughes’ side to score two or more this time around at 3.1 (21/10) with Sky Bet.
