Spain vs GermanyEstadio de Balaidos in Vigo will host a high-profile international friendly between old and new World Cup champions Spain and Germany.

And while this may be just a friendly game, chances are both sides will be eager to prove they are the ones who should be considered the world’s team to beat.

Spain’s impressive run of three straight wins at major tournaments came to an abrupt end as La Furia Roja crashed out in group stage at the 2014 World Cup.

Several experienced players have since retired from international duty, while others have been given a chance to shine, and it is clear the squad rebuilding process is still underway.

While La Furia Roja were unfortunate to lose to Slovakia, they eased off to qualifying wins over FYR Macedonia, Luxembourg and Belarus, and they enter the Germany game high on spirits.

Spain have so far played seven matches in Vigo, winning four and drawing three, and they are now 2.25 (5/4) to defeat Germany as well.

Celta Vigo forward Nolito hopes to be handed his debut in front of the home fans, while Jose Callejon and Bruno Soriano are pushing for starting places.

Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa miss out through injury, while David De Gea is rated doubtful with dislocated finger.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Casilla – Azpilicueta, Bartra, Ramos, Bernat – Callejon, Koke, Bruno, Isco – Morata, Nolito.

Germany are the team that took over the reigns from Spain, having finally won a major title at the 2014 World Cup on the back of several narrow misses.

The impressive win in Brazil came at a cost as several key players surprisingly retired from international stage, and that could be one of the reasons for the latest under-par performances.

Die Mannschaft have been far from impressive at the start of the Euro 2016 qualifiers, winning just two of first three fixtures despite playing three matches at home.

Numerous injury problems certainly played a part, but even with the infirmary still quite packed, Germany can be backed at 3.50 (5/2) to win in Vigo.

The likes of Manuel Neuer and Jerome Boateng have withdrawn from the squad, with Andre Schurrle, Marco Reus and Christoph Kramer also missing through injury.

Nevertheless, the Germans are eager to make amends for the recent setbacks and they can be trusted to take the Spain match very seriously.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Weidenfeller – Rudiger, Mustafi, Howedes, Durm – Khedira, Kroos – Muller, Gotze, Bellarabi – Kruse.
