The Scottish Premier League play-offs start with what will be a fiery encounter between the Old Firm rivals, with the winner likely to make a big step towards the SPL title.

Rangers are currently one point clear of their fierce rivals, but since Celtic have a game in hand Walter Smith’s side have got to win the final Old Firm derby of the season if they want to defend the league title.

Gers have been in impressive form of late, having won last five games in all competitions and after winning the last Old Firm derby as well, Rangers are now 2.60 (8/5) with William Hill to claim maximum points at Ibrox.

The hosts will be without Kirk Broadfoot and Vladimir Weiss, while Lee McCulloch and Jamie Ness are major injury doubts.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-1-1): McGregor – Foster, Bougherra, Weir, Whittaker – Davis, Ness, Edu, Lafferty – Naismith – Jelavic.

Celtic enter this match in great spirits knowing that even one point from Ibrox would make them odds-on favourites to lift the SPL title.

After losing to Rangers in the Co-op Insurance Cup final, Celtic went on to win their next five games in all competitions, and what is really impressive is that they have kept a clean sheet in every one of their last four games. The Bhoys are 3.50 (5/2) with Bet365 not to concede at Ibrox.

Celtic Boss Neil Lennon hasn’t had the best build-up to the highly anticipated clash as he had parcel bombs sent to his home, but the Northern Irish manager says he is, nonetheless, fully focused on the job ahead.

Lennon will have Glenn Loovens back to the side after recovering from a hamstring injury, but Shaun Maloney is doubtful and Joe Ledley and Cha Du-Ri are definitely out.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Forster – Wilson, Majstorovic, Mulgrew, Izaguirre – Brown, Ki, Kayal, Commons – Samaras, Hooper.

The Old Firm derbies are always intense affairs and with this clash likely to decide the SPL champions, we should see even more fire than usual. Therefore, you may consider betting on over 60 booking points at odds of 2.00 (1/1) offered by 888Sport.

Every yellow card is worth 10 points and every red worth 25. There were 85 booking points in last clash between the two teams.
