Palermo captain Fabrizio Miccoli believes one of the reasons behind team’s impressive showings this term is the family atmosphere surrounding the club.

The Italy international says he always makes new players feel welcome at Renzo Barbera.

“I try and calm my teammates down,” Miccoli told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Of course we follow the coach when he takes training.

We have a style of play, an identity. We hope that Delio Rossi stays next season too.

“I try to speak as much as possible with Liverani, Migliaccio, Balzaretti and Cassani. The old guard is what allows the others to play with serenity.

“We are a little Slovene, a little South American and a little Italian, but when we work we only speak the language of Palermo.”

The Rosanero currently sit in 5th place, just one point adrift of the Champions League places and if they continue playing like this, nobody would be surprised to see them finally finish the season in top 4.

Palermo are priced at 5.00 (4/1) to finish in top 4 at 888Sport.
