Wednesday evening’s action from Anfield sees Liverpool face Bournemouth in the fourth round of the League Cup.

The Reds needed penalties to get past League Two Carlisle United in the third round, with Danny Ings scoring the decisive spot-kick to eventually send them through.

The Merseyside outfit are unbeaten in nine games though incredibly all but one of those fixtures finished all square after ninety minutes and the last three of those draws have come under the guidance of new manager Jurgen Klopp.

Forward duo Christian Benteke and Daniel Sturridge are both set to miss out but could return in time to face champions Chelsea in the league at the weekend while Danny Ings, Joe Gomez, Jordan Rossiter, Jon Flanagan and captain Jordan Henderson are also sidelined.

Divock Origi is set to lead the line and is priced at 7.0 (6/1) to open the scoring with Betfair, with Adam Lallana a 9.0 (8/1) chance with the same firm.

The home win inside ninety minutes is priced at 1.6 (6/10) with Betfair, with the visitors as highly priced as the 6.5 (11/2) on offer from a variety of firms. The draw is a 4.45 (38/11) chance with 888 Sport.

Eddie Howe’s side also needed penalties in round three, eventually edging past Championship side Preston North End after the game finished 2-2 after 120 minutes.

They go in to this game on the back of back-to-back 5-1 league defeats – results which have seen them slip to seventeenth place in the Premier League.

Lee Tomlin and Harry Arter will be assessed ahead of the game with long term injured quartet Callum Wilson, Tyrone Mings, Tommy Elphick and Max Gradel the only definite absentees.

Matt Ritchie is 15.0 (14/1) to get the first goal of the game with Bet 365 while Joshua King can be backed at 16.0 (15/1) with 888 Sport.

The two sides met at Anfield earlier in the season with Christian Benteke scoring the only goal of the game back in August and a 1-0 home win this time around can be backed at a price of 8.5 (15/2) with most firms.
