Lyon vs MonacoLille desperately need a win to get away from the bottom three, but avoiding third straight defeat in Ligue 1 will be no easy task.

They will be up against revived Lyon side that recorded back to back wins over Toulouse and Bastia, and they will be looking to pile more misery on les Dogues.

Lille appear to be paying the price for continuous sales of star players as their current squad do not seem good enough to keep the results at a respectable level.

Having said that, les Dogues are definitely good enough to avoid the drop, but their ageing squad have experienced plenty of problems this term.

Lille have now lost seven of last nine league fixtures, and wins over Nancy and Bastia only proved enough to keep them above the bottom two.

If they remain in the current position come end of the season, les Dogues will be involved in the relegation play-off, and that is something they will certainly be looking to avoid.

Lille need to try and make amends for narrow defeats to PSG and Angers, but their 3-0-3 home record cannot really point us in the right direction when potential outcome is concerned.

Head coach Frederic Antonetti welcomes Nicolas De Preville and Rony Lopes back to the side, but Ryan Mendes is unlikely to be risked.

However, the likes of Mounir Obaddi, Eric Bautheac and Junior Tallo remain in the infirmary and are definitely out of the Lyon clash.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Enyeama – Corchia, Soumaoro, Basa, Beria – Mavuba, Amadou, Sankhare – Amalfitano, Eder, Sliti.

These past few years have been quite eventful for Lyon and the trend appears to have continued with the current season.

Les Gones have been quite inconsistent this term, but there are some mitigating circumstances such as the Champions League campaign and injuries to star players.

However, back to back wins over Toulouse and Bastia are enough to suggest that the team are slowly returning to the right track and they are now 2.70 (17/10) to see off sorry Lille.

Once again, head coach Bruno Genesio faces serious selection problems, with star forward Nabil Fekir suspended for the trip to Stade Pierre Mauroy.

Rachid Ghezzal has failed to recover from an adductor injury, whereas Christophe Jallet and Clement Grenier are also sidelined.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Lopes – Rafael, Mammana, N’Koulou, Morel – Ferri, Gonalons, Tolisso – Cornet, Lacazette, Rybus.
