Denmark national team will be looking to prove their worth when they take on World Cup holders Germany at the Brondby Stadion on Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, die Mannschaft begin preparations for the 2017 Confederations Cup and they head into the game as slight favourites.

Denmark missed out on the Euro 2016 finals as they were beaten by neighbours Sweden in the play-offs, and the team didn’t have such a good start to the new qualifying campaign either.

Age Hareide’s side defeated Armenia in the opener, but then suffered back to back defeats to Poland and Montenegro, slipping to fourth in the overall standings.

Denmark have since managed to show some improvement, hammering Kazakhstan 4-1 before holding Romania to a goalless draw, and they are now preparing for the return leg against the former Soviet republic.

Head coach Age Hareide faces serious selection problems as first choice goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is sidelined, whereas Daniel Wass, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Andreas Cornelius have failed to make the cut.

Eredivisie top scorer Nicolai Jorgensen is back after missing the clash in Romania, but he has yet to register the first goal in 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-1-1): Ronnow – Kjaer, Christensen, Vestergaard – Ankersen, Kvist, Schone, Delaney, Durmisi – Eriksen – N. Jorgensen.

The 2014 World Cup winners hope to claim another major trophy this summer as the 2017 Confederations Cup takes place in Russia from 17th June to 2nd July.

Joachim Low has already named his squad for the showpiece tournament, and these players will also be in contention for games against Denmark and San Marino.

The highly rated tactician decided to name a youthful side, leaving star players Mesut Ozil, Manuel Neuer, Mats Hummels, Toni Kroos, Marco Reus, Thomas Muller and Mario Gomez, among others.

Meanwhile, Kevin Trapp, Marvin Plattenhardt, Kerem Demirbay, Diego Demme, Sandro Wagner and Lars Stindl will all be hoping to win their first caps.

Even with an experimental squad, Germany are priced at 2.00 (1/1) to defeat Denmark in Brondby, although the lack of international experience could prove to be a problem.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): ter Stegen – Henrichs, Rudiger, Mustafi, Hector – Kimmich, Can – Younes, Draxler, Brandt – Wagner.
