Leverkusen vs BayernBayern Munich will be eager to return to winning ways when they host Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, with the 1-1 draw against Arsenal ending their run of ten victories on the bounce.

Meanwhile, die Werkself desperately need to get their confidence back following some disappointing results and what better way to do that than to record a good result against arguably Europe’s strongest side.

Even if many believed winning the treble of major titles for the second time in a row was an impossible task, Pep Guardiola and his men are getting closer to their objective.

The Bundesliga trophy is already in the bag given that the Bavarians are 20 points clear with just 10 games to go, while they have made it to DFB Pokal semi-finals, with Borussia Dortmund the only other top side remaining in the competition.

At the same time, Bayern could make history by becoming the first side ever to defend the Champions League title, having eased off to the quarter-finals thanks to a 3-1 aggregate win over Arsenal.

Following the 2-0 triumph at the Emirates, the Bavarians failed to win the return leg, but they are 1.17 (1/6) to return to winning ways against Bayer Leverkusen.

And having scored 17 goals in last four home matches in the league, Bayern are 1.65 (13/20) to score three goals or more.

Having been rested in midweek, the likes of Rafinha, Jerome Boateng and Thomas Muller are set to be recalled, but Toni Kroos will not be risked as he is not fully fit.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Neuer – Rafinha, Biateng, Dante, Alaba = Lahm, Schweinsteiger – Gotze, Thiago, Ribery – Muller.

Bayer Leverkusen recovered well from the 3-2 defeat to Freiburg in their first match in the New Year to record back to back triumphs over Stuttgart and Borussia M’gladbach, but the team have been on a terrible run since.

Die Werkself were eliminated from the DFB Pokal by second division side Kaiserslautern, while seriously hurting their top 4 hopes by taking just one point from four league fixtures.

And having also suffered a 6-1 defeat on aggregate to PSG in the Champions League, Sami Hyypia’s charges go into this game low on confidence.

Nevertheless, the team have shown signs of promise in the return leg against Paris Saint-Germain, when they took the lead and missed a penalty before allowing the opposition to overturn the deficit and win 2-1.

Taking also into account that Bayer have nothing to lose at Alianz Arena, backing them to score at 1.91 (10/11) could be the right thing to do.

Emir Spahic returns from European suspension, whereas Stefan Kiessling, Sebastian Boenisch, Roberto Hilbert and Heung-Min Son will be recalled.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Leno – Hilbert, Toprak, Spahic, Boenisch – Bender, Reinartz, Can – Castro, Kiessling, Son.
