Chile vs EcuadorThe 2015 Copa America hosts start their campaign against Ecuador at Estadio Nacional Julio Martinez Pradanos, with the entire nation hoping La Roja can kick off with a win.

Meanwhile, La Tri head into the game without a number of star players, but they, nonetheless, hope to spoil the party for Jorge Sampaoli’s side.

Chile have been slowly raising the national team’s profile of late, and they had high hopes ahead of the 2014 World Cup despite being placed in a very strong group.

La Roja did brilliantly to pip mighty Spain to a place in the knockout stages, before they matched hosts Brazil for 120 minutes before suffering an unfortunate exit after penalties.

But, rather than destabilising the squad, the failure to reach the quarter-finals in Brazil only made the team even more determined to try and make amends by winning the Copa America tournament on home soil.

And with the likes of Sanchez, Vidal, Medel and Bravo all in the squad, there may be value in backing La Roja to go all the way at 5.00 (4/1).

Meanwhile, Chile have been made 1.50 (1/2) favourites to win their opening fixture against Ecuador, although they might be felling the nerves in the opening exchanges.

Star player Arturo Vidal should start despite struggling for fitness, but Esteban Paredes and Carlos Carmona have been ruled out of the tournament through injury.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Bravo – Isla, Medel, Jara, Mena – Pizarro, Aranguiz, Vidal – Sanchez, Valdivia, Beausejour.

Ecuador, too, have enjoyed plenty of success over the last few years and they are becoming regular participants at the major competitions.

La Tri did not manage to get past the group stage at the 2014 World Cup, with opening defeat to Switzerland proving costly, even if they went on to beat Honduras and share spoils with second-string France side.

Gustavo Quinteros has since taken over the reigns, with Ecuador losing to Mexico and Argentina in his first two games in charge.

La Tri have played two games against Panama in the build up to the 2015 Copa America, playing out a 1-1 draw before recording a 4-0 win, and they go into the Chile clash in good spirits.

Nevertheless, the likes of Antonio Valencia, Felipe Caicedo and Michael Arroyo have all been ruled out of the tournament through injury.

The good news is that West Ham forward Enner Valencia has recovered from an ankle problem and he is expected to start.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): A. Dominguez – Paredes, Achilier, Erazo, W. Ayovi – Martinez, Noboa, Lastra, Montero – E. Valencia, Bolanos.
