Having recorded back to back wins in the Premier League for the first time since February, Sunderland will be high on confidence when they take on Tottenham, a team that hammered Aston Villa 4-0 in midweek.

The Black Cats found themselves in real problems after losing at home to Chelsea few weeks ago as they slipped into the bottom three, but Martin O’Neill’s side have shown a massive improvement since.

Sunderland defeated relegation rivals Reading and Southampton either side of the defeat at Old Trafford, before seeing off Manchester City at the Stadium of Light to climb to seven points clear from the relegation zone.

Martin O’Neill’s side now need to extend the good run of results, and they are 3.90 (29/10) with BetVictor to record their third successive victory.

The Black Cats are also 4.33 (10/3) with Ladbrokes to keep their fourth clean sheet in last five Premier League fixtures.

Wes Brown and Lee Cattermole remain sidelined, but Martin O’Neill has no other injury worries at the moment.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-1-1): Mignolet – Bardsley, Cuellar, O’Shea, Rose – Johnson, Larsson, Gardner, McClean – Sessegnon – Fletcher.

Tottenham may have had a somewhat slow start to the season, but Spurs managed to hit top form at just the right time and now look like genuine top 4 contenders.

While good showings against Swansea, Stoke and especially Aston Villa are certainly a reason for optimism, Andre Villas-Boas must be delighted that his back line is in perfect working order, having kept three straight clean sheets.

With so many great attacking players at his disposal, keeping a clean sheet usually means a victory for Spurs, so Tottenham are in good stead to win their second successive match on the road.

Following the 4-0 triumph at Villa Park, it is hardly surprising that away win pays just 2.10 (11/10) at Coral.

On the other hand, Spurs are 3.75 (11/4) with Ladbrokes to win at the Stadium of Light and keep another clean sheet in the process.

Andre Villas-Boas is unlikely to make wholesale changes to the starting line-up, although Michael Dawson and Scott Parker could start.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Lloris – Walker, Caulker, Dawson, Vertonghen – Lennon, Parker, Dembele, Bale – Adebayor, Defoe.
