Sunday’s Premier League game at St James’ Park sees Newcastle United host champions Manchester City.

Alan Pardew’s men secured a top half finish last season, though the majority of their work was carried out in the first half of the season as they took just sixteen points from fifty-seven available from January 1st.

Daryl Janmaat, Remy Cabella Emmanuel Riviere and Jack Colback are all set to make their debuts for the home side though fellow new arrival Siem de Jong in out injured along with Papiss Cisse, Cheick Tiote and Davide Santon.

Riviere is priced at 9.5 (17/2) to get the first goal of the game with Bet Victor, with Cabella a 13.0 (12/1) chance with the same firm.

The home win is generously priced at 5.5 (9/2) with a variety of bookmakers, with City odds on favourites at 1.67 (4/6) with most firms. The draw is widely available at 4.2 (16/5).

The visitors clinched their second league title in three years with a 2-0 victory over West Ham United on the final day of last season, their twenty-seventh win of the campaign and fifth in a row.

Manuel Pellegrini’s only major injury concern is Alvaro Negredo who remains side-lined with a metatarsal injury, while Sergio Aguero should feature despite now being one hundred percent fit.

Frank Lampard, Bacary Sagna, Eliaquim Mangala and Fernando could all make their league debuts while Willy Caballero, who was given the nod in the Community Shield defeat to Arsenal last weekend, and Joe Hart are battling to play in goal.

Aguero is favourite to open the scoring at 5.0 (4/1) with a number of bookmakers, with Yaya Toure a 7.5 (13/2) chance with Paddy Power.

These two sides faced each other on the opening weekend of last season, with City running out 4-0 winners at the Etihad Stadium while the return fixture finished in a 2-0 win for Pellegrini’s side.

Another win to nil for the champions here is priced at 3.1 (21/10) with Coral, while the visitors can be backed at 3.0 (2/1) with the same firm to score three times or more.
