Saturday’s Premier League action from the Etihad Stadium sees Manchester City host Newcastle United.

Having won their first five games of the season without conceding, Manuel Pellegrini’s side have lost their last two league fixtures to slip to second, beneath city rivals Manchester United while they left it late to beat Borussia Monchengladbach in their second Champions League tie on Wednesday evening.

Victory here will see them reclaim top spot, if only temporarily, with United traveling to Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
Yaya Toure and captain Vincent Kompany remain out for the hosts, while Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy and Fabian Delph also miss out though Wilfried Bony, Eliaquim Mangala and Kelechi Iheanacho could return.

Sergio Aguero, who netted the winner from the penalty spot midweek is favourite to open the scoring at 4.0 (3/1) with Coral while Kevin De Bruyne, who has three goals for the club in six games so far is a 7.0 (6/1) chance with Bet 365.

The home win is 1.25 (1/4) with a number of firms, with the visitors available at the widely available price of 13.0 (12/1). The draw can be backed at 7.0 (6/1).

Steve McClaren’s side halted a four game losing run with a draw against champions Chelsea last time out, though they were 2-0 up with just eleven minutes left to play.

They sit in nineteenth place, one point above rivals Sunderland who prop up the rest of the table.

Only victory here coupled with a defeat for Stoke City at Aston Villa would see them climb out of the bottom three, while anything other than three points could open the door for Dick Advocat’s side to climb off the bottom.

No side in the division have more injury worries than Newcastle, who have around ten players missing including Roland Aarons, Papiss Cisse, Gabriel Obertan and Massadio Haidara.

Aleksander Mitrovic is 15.0 (14/1) to get the first goal of the game with Bet 365, with Ayoze Perez available at 17.0 (16/1) with the same firm.

City have won the last five league meetings between the sides without conceding, including last season’s corresponding fixture which ended in a 5-0 win for the then champions.

With that in mind, you may be tempted to back the home win to nil at 2.2 (6/5) with Sky Bet.
