The Ivorian partnered Fernando Torres in attack as the Blues faced the Hungarian side in Budapest, but he was forced to leave the pitch after half an hour after twisting his ankle.

Drogba was unable to shake off the injury and was replaced by Brazilian midfielder Oscar just few minutes later.

The veteran striker is now rated doubtful for club’s opening fixture of the season against Burnley, where the Blues are 1.40 (2/5) to emerge victorious.

Didier Drogba returned to Stamford Bridge for a second spell this summer as Demba Ba and Romelu Lukaku left the club and he is expected to act as a back-up to Diego Costa together with Fernando Torres.

The 36-year-old spent last two years at Galatasaray, scoring a total of 20 goals in 53 competitive fixtures for the Turkish giants.
