Tuesday evening’s game at Upton Park sees West Ham United face Manchester United in the second leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final, with damage limitation likely to be the hosts plan of action.

Sam Allardyce’s men, who trail 6-0 from the first leg at the Etihad Stadium a fortnight ago, have a main focus of retaining their top flight status after slipping into the bottom three of the Premier League at the weekend.

Captain Kevin Nolan and James Tomkins are both available for the Hammers after serving a four and one match suspensions respectively.

Andy Carroll and Ravel Morrison are expected to play some part, while Ricardo Vaz Te could make his first appearance in almost three months after recovering from a dislocated shoulder.

Carroll is 11.0 (10/1) to open the scoring with Paddy Power, while Carlton Cole is available at the same price with the same firm.

The home win is priced at 7.5 (13/2) with most bookmakers, with City favourites at 1.42 (5/12) with 888 Sport. The draw is 5.5 (9/2) with Bet 365.

Bets are not even being taken on the visitors, who are set to appear in their first major final in two years.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side passed the 100 goal mark at the weekend after putting four past Cardiff City at the Etihad Stadium, and keep up the pressure on league leaders Arsenal.

A host of first team players are expected to be rested, while Stevan Jovetic and Jack Rodwell are likely to be involved after long injury lay-offs.

Edin Dzeko can be backed at 5.0 (4/1) to get the first goal of the game, while David Silva can be backed at 11.0 (10/1) with 888 Sport.

City have scored at least four goals in three of their last four games, and twelve times in total so far this campaign. They can be backed at odds of 4.33 (10/3) with Coral to do so here.

Alternatively, if you fancy a repeat of the 3-1 scoreline recorded by the Manchester side when they visited East London back in October, 888 Sport offer a price of 12.5 (23/2).
