Neymar to miss between 6 and 8 weeks of action

Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar could miss up to two months of action through injury, the player’s father has revealed.

The Brazilian fractured his metatarsal and also sprained his ankle in the 3-0 league win over Marseille, meaning he will miss Tuesday’s high-profile game against Real Madrid.

And even though head coach Unai Emery ruled out a surgery, Neymar’s father has estimated the time needed to recover to six to eight weeks.

“His treatment will last six to eight weeks, whether there is an operation or not,” Neymar senior told ESPN Brazil.

PSG again find themselves on the brink of the Champions League exit, having suffered a 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in the first leg of their last 16 stage clash in spite of dominating for large periods of the game.

And with Neymar missing the return leg, it is hardly surprising, the Saints are 3.50 (5/2) chance to qualify for the quarter-finals.
