Tottenham vs Manchester United

Tottenham ended the great run of results as they lost to Everton some the days ago, but the win over Manchester United would definitely make everyone forget about the Goodison Park defeat. The Premiership champions kept their unbeaten record intact as they overcame a hard-working Stoke side and they aim to continue in similar manner.

Tottenham not giving up on the title

Even though Tottenham achieved a big success as they finished in top 4 last term, I have to say Spurs look much more convincing this season as the competition is now more fierce than ever. Harry Redknapp has got to be congratulated for what he has done with Spurs as he managed to find the much needed balance between attack and defence, which is one of the reasons for the impressive performances. The mere fact players like Jenas, Kranjcar and Bentley had to watch most of the games from the bench proves how strong Tottenham’s midfield area is, with goals from Rafa van der Vaart and Gareth Bale making up for the poor form of their strikers. Spurs’ attacking football has become a joy to watch, especially at White Hart Lane, where Tottenham rarely see off their opponents with less than two goals in their net. Having scored at least one goal in last 14 home games, Spurs should be able to bag at least one against mighty United.

Younes Kaboul returns after suspension and he is likely to start alongside ever impressive Michael Dawson, but Huddlestone, King, O’Hara and Woodgate remain sidelined.

United’s unbeaten record in danger

This Premiership campaign is definitely one of the strongest ever, but United have somehow climbed to the top of the standings without a single defeat in 20 games despite playing way below the expectations. The players’ immense experience has helped them won a couple of games when they were completely outplayed by the opponents, whereas Sir Alex Ferguson’s pressure on the referees also paid off as United had some questionable refereeing decisions awarded in their favour. The Red Devils remain one of the best sides in the Premiership, but I have a feeling they are in for a very difficult second part of the season. United are looking to win this game and return to the top of the standings, although the task of picking up all three points from White Hart Lane could be too much for them at the moment.

Fergie will welcome back Wayne Rooney and Nemanja Vidic to the side, while Edwin van der Sar remains a doubt through illness.

Verdict

Everything suggests this will be one of the best matches in English football this season, with two attack-minded teams set to clash at White Hart Lane. I have absolutely no doubts Tottenham will add to their goalscoring tally, and with United also likely to do the same, our advise is to bet on both teams to score.
