All eyes will be on Massimino on Saturday night as out-of-form Catania play host to leaders Milan. New boss Diego Simeone is hoping the Elephants can produce an upset in his first home game, while the Rossoneri believe new signings Van Bommel and Emanuelson will help them record a very important victory.

Simeone promises all out attack

Thing are not going well for Catania at the moment as they currently sit just outside the relegation zone, which is not where they have planned to be before the season started. The club management decided to bring Diego Simeone to replace Marco Giampaolo as the team craved for a change and change is exactly what the Argentine will bring. His first match against Parma showed we will see a completely different Catania in the second part of the season as the boss plans to utilize team’s attacking potential to the maximum. He is expected to field a 4-3-3 formation and try to expose all Milan’s weaknesses, with the Rossoneri missing quite a few important defenders, so everything suggests the fans at Massimino will not be deprived of goals.

The hosts are without Biaganti, Llama and Potenza, with Mascara, Maxi Lopez and Ricchiuti set to start up front.

Milan coping well with numerous problems

At the moment it looks as though nothing can stop Milan from clinching the long-awaited Serie A title, as the Rossoneri keep going strong despite virtually missing half of the team. Successive victories over Bari, Cesena and Sampdoria worked wonders for the players’ confidence, with Massimilliano Allegri’s side expected to continue in the same manner. New signings Mark van Bommel, Urby Emanuelson and Didac Vila will provide much needed squad depth now that Milan are missing quite a few of first team regulars, with the Dutch internationals already showing they will be big asset to the club. Milan have got to try and win this game and with players like Ibrahimovic, Pato and Cassano up front the Rossoneri are set to continue the impressive scoring run.

Kevin Prince Boateng, Gianluca Zambrotta, Pippo Inzaghi, Marco Amelia, Andrea Pirlo, Marek Jankulovski, Alessandro Nesta, Gennaro Gattuso, Clarence Seedorf, Matthieu Flamini and Daniele Bonera are all sidelined, but Maxi Allegri should still be able to field a very strong side.

Verdict

Catania are in desperate need of a win in order to escape the danger zone and with Diego Simeone on the bench the Elephants won’t be afraid to attack injury-plagued Milan. With the Rossoneri set to adopt similar approach, we are likely to see goals at Massimino, especially as both sides boast impressive attacking departments.
