France vs NorwayFrance start their World Cup preparations with friendly clash against Norway at Stade de France in Paris, with les Bleus eager to continue the good run of results.

Meanwhile, this will be another serious test for the Nordic side and their new boss Per Mahias-Hogmo ahead of the Euro 2016 qualifiers.

France were far from impressive in the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign and they appeared to be in for a major disappointment following the 2-0 defeat to Ukraine in the play-off first leg.

Nevertheless, les Bleus then produced a stunning performance to win the return match 3-0 and thus secured their place at the tournament finals.

France have since defeated Netherlands in an international friendly, but this will be their first match after Didier Deschamps named his final squad for the 2014 World Cup.

The boss served up several surprises, leaving Samir Nasri, Adil Rami and Gael Clichy out, while calling Antoine Griezmann and Lucas Digne among others.

But, with his squad packed with quality and experience, it is hardly surprising les Bleus have been made 1.36 (4/11) favourites to defeat Norway.

Franck Ribery is likely to miss out with a back problem, whereas Karim Benzema and Raphael Varane are unavailable after taking part in the Champions League final.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Ruffier – Debuchy, Koscielny, Mangala, Evra – Cabaye, Matuidi, Pogba – Valbuena, Giroud, Griezmann.

Following yet another disappointing campaign, long-serving coach Egil Olsen decided to step down from the post, with Per-Mathias Hogmo brought to replace him.

The new boss could do little to avoid disappointing results in the final two World Cup qualifiers, while there was little reason for optimism in the international friendlies that ensued.

While defeating Moldova on the road and sharing spoils with Czech Republic, Norway lost to Denmark, Scotland and Poland, and no doubt they will be looking to show some improvement against France.

That is obviously easier said than done, but this game should definitely serve as a good test for the Nordic side ahead of what expects them in the Euro 2016 qualifiers.

Defender Even Hovland misses out through injury, whilst Per Egil Flo could earn his first cap for the national team.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Jarstein – Hogli, Hangeland, Forren, Ringstad – Skjelbred, Nordtveit, Tettey, Dahli – Abdellaoue, Elyounoussi.
