Arjen RobbenCosta Rica coach Jorge Luis Pinto has urged the referees to punish Netherlands star Arjen Robben in case he continues diving at the 2014 World Cup.

The Bayern Munich star, well-known for his habit of diving, used his well-documented ‘skills’ to earn a penalty in the Last 16 stage clash against Mexico that eventually saw Oranje win the game and qualify for the quarter-finals.

And with the player later admitting he had dived for penalty, Costa Rica coach Jorge Luis Pinto hopes the referees will keep a close eye on Robben.

“I would like to ask Fifa and the referees to watch Robben,” said Pinto. “We’re really worried about his diving. He has admitted doing it.”

“Maybe he would have to leave the field because he gets two yellow cards for diving.”

Costa Rica surprised everyone by going this far, and they are now available at 4.75 (15/4) to pip Netherlands to a semi-final berth.

Los Ticos have only conceded two goals in four matches and they hope another committed defensive performance will see them claim another major scalp.
