Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has said that he is pleased with his side’s win against Rangers in the UEFA Champions League this week.

Jurgen Klopp’s side got the better of Rangers 2-0 at Anfield in UEFA Champions League Group A on Tuesday evening.

Trent Alexander-Arnold put the Reds in the lead in the seventh minute.

Egypt international forward Mohamed Salah made it 2-0 from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute.

Van Dijk told Liverpool’s official website: “Yeah, pleased. Three points, overall a very good performance and a lot of things that we wanted to do came out.

“We created a lot of chances, I think their goalkeeper was outstanding, kept them in the game and yeah, I think overall it was very important to gain confidence and keep the clean sheet and do very well. I think we did.”

Liverpool will return to action on Sunday when they take on Arsenal away from home at the Emirates Stadium in North London in the Premier League.

The Reds can be backed at 17/2 on Betfair to win the Premier League game 2-1.
