Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic says his side are ready for anything Barcelona might throw at them in the Champions League final.

Barcelona players Dani Alves, Javier Mascherano and Sergio Busquets were slammed for their behaviour in the Champions League semi-finals, but Vidic believes United won’t have problems dealing with the Catalans’ tricks at Wembley.

“We have to focus, then it won’t be a big deal to handle the things we know will come. Their players have a different mentality to us,” Vidic was quoted as saying.

“But it won’t be a problem to deal with these things. They may do things and argue more than they should do but it won’t affect us.

“The referee for the game will probably be the best referee around. I think he can cope with that.

“We have no doubt of the mentality of the players in our team and their ability to handle this. We know each other, play for each other and trust each other.”

His defensive partner Rio Ferdinand believes that this play-acting style threatens to ruin the game.

“It’s the way the game has gone nowadays. It wasn’t just Barcelona, Real Madrid were doing the same things.

“In games all over Europe, players in different teams do the same. In those semis everything was magnified.”

With the Champions League final always an intense affair, we could easily see at least one red card at Wembley. Bet365 pays 3.75 (11/4) if that happens.
