Valencia chase another Champions League berth

Valencia remained in 4th place in La Liga after beating Levante away thanks to Juan Mata strike. The Spain international scored a late goal to win the game for los Che after he had missed a penalty in the first half.

That was the third straight league victory for Unai Emery’s side that kept them in good stead for another Champions League finish. Los Che are now three points clear of fifth-placed Espanyol and they are looking to increase that advantage before the Champions League resumes in February.

Los Che could go far in Europe this term as they face Schalke in the first knockout round and considering their recent performances, the Spaniards have got to be considered favourites in that clash.

Sportsbook.com also sees Valencia as favourites against Schalke as the home win pays 1.75 (3/4), while the odds on draw are 3.50 (5/2) and away win pays 4.40 (17/5).
