Sevilla vs BarcelonaSpanish giants Barcelona and Sevilla will be vying for the European Super Cup trophy at Boris Paichadzis Erovnuli Stadioni in Tbilisi, Georgia.

And there are no doubts the Champions League and Europa League holders will want to start the new season with a win over their La Liga rivals.

Luis Enrique enjoyed a perfect start to his career as Barcelona head coach, leading his team to three major trophies last season.

But, he now needs to prove he can keep the Catalans at the top of the European football, and the talented coach has received strong backing from the club board.

While the likes of Xavi, Deulofeu, Montoya and Afellay all left, Barcelona did well to recruit Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal, even if the duo cannot be registered until the New Year.

Luis Enrique’s decision not to sell Pedro before the European Super Cup is proving a very good one, especially now that Neymar has been ruled out through mumps.

Even so, Barcelona remain the favourites to lift the coveted trophy in Tbilisi, with home win paying 1.36 (9/25) at Paddy Power.

Adriano Correia has recovered from a hamstring problem and should be available for selection, but Jordi Alva has been ruled out through a leg injury.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Bravo – Alves, Pique, Mascherano, Mathieu – Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta – Messi, Suarez, Pedro.

Sevilla enjoyed another very successful season last term, defending the Europa League title to secure their place in this year’s Champions League.

However, coach Unai Emery had plenty of squad rebuilding to do after the likes of M’Bia, Bacca and few more players left the club.

Once again, Sevilla made a number of very good signings, as Konoplyanka, Rami, Immobile, N’Zonzi, Kakuta, Krohn-Dehli and Escudero all joined, but it is clear the team are still far from the desired form.

Los Rojiblancos were far from impressive in the 1-1 draw with AEK Athens on Saturday, while they have some selection problems ahead of the Barca clash.

Daniel Carrico and Nico Pareja are ruled out through injury, while Steven N’Zonzi and Timothee Kolodziejczak are major doubts.

With that in mind, it is hardly surprising that Sevilla are no less than 6.00 (5/1) to lift the UEFA Super Cup trophy in Tbilisi.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Beto – Coke, Rami, Krychowiak, Tremoulinas – Banega, Iborra – Vitolo, Reyes, Konoplyanka – Gameiro.
