Reaching the UEFA Champions League final is a ‘dream come true’ for young defender Alphonso Davies.

The former Vancouver Whitecaps left-back has been a key cog as the Bavarians managed to reach their 11th European Cup final where they will play Ligue 1 champions PSG.

It’s been a memorable run for Hansi Flick’s troops which included the record-breaking 8-2 destruction of Barcelona.

Davies, speaking after Bayern’s 3-0 success against Lyon in the semi-finals to BT Sport, said: “Playing in the Champions League and getting to the final is everything you could ask for.

“PSG are a good team. Right now we celebrate a bit, then we focus on the next game.

“It will be a good game – there will be goals in that game. This is what you dream about as a footballer: playing with the best and against the best in Europe.

“It is a dream come true. Even though they [the older players in the squad] have won many many titles before they are still hungry to win this one.”

With Bayern having won five European titles prior to their meeting with PSG, the Germans are understandably the favourites. They can be backed at odds of 4/7 with Betfair to lift the trophy at the Estadio da Luz on Sunday evening.
