Atletico vs JuventusLast year’s finalists Atletico Madrid are after a morale-boosting victory following the unexpected defeat to Olympiakos, but scoring past rock-solid Juventus could prove to be a very difficult task.

The Bianconeri go into the clash at Vicente Calderon on the back of six straight victories, where they haven’t conceded a single goal in the process.

Atletico Madrid came incredibly close to winning the first ever Champions League trophy last term, only to lose the final to Real Madrid after extra time.

And despite major changes in the squad, los Colchoneros continued in the same manner this term, climbing to third in La Liga with four wins and two draws from opening six matches.

Club’s Champions League campaign did not start well though as Atletico were beaten by Olympiakos in Athens and they have no choice but to try and make amends against Juventus.

Seeing as how Diego Simeone’s charges hammered Sevilla 4-0 at the weekend, they are now 2.20 (6/5) to see off the Bianconeri.

Midfielder Gabi Fernandez is doubtful with an ankle problem, but the good news is there are no other worries for Diego Simeone.

It may be important to note that Atletico Madrid won five Champions League fixtures at home last term before sharing spoils with Chelsea in the semi-final first leg.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Moya – Juanfran, Miranda, Godin, Siqueira – Turan, Tiago, Saul, Koke – Mandzukic, Garcia.

Many believed that Max Allegri would struggle to fill Antonio Conte’s boots, but the former AC Milan boss has done brilliantly so far.

Juventus have won each of their five league fixtures, keeping a clean sheet in all five games to prove they are still the team to beat in Italy’s top flight.

However, with AS Roma also impressing in the early exchanges, the Bianconeri are no longer regarded as the hot favourites for the league trophy.

But, having failed to leave their mark in Europe of late, Juventus are desperate to reach the Champions League final stages this term and they seem to be on the right track.

Following the 2-0 home win over Malmo FF, the Old Lady can be backed at 3.80 (14/5) to defeat Atletico Madrid at Vicente Calderon.

Max Allegri will have Martin Caceres back from injury, but Andrea Pirlo will not be in contention despite resuming training after injury.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-2): Buffon – Caceres, Bonucci, Chiellini – Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Pogba, Marchisio, Asamoah – Tevez, Llorente.
