Bayern vs AtleticoThe two sides met in last year’s semi-final, with Atletico Madrid winning thanks to away goal rule, so chances are Bayern Munich will be out to get revenge on Wednesday evening.

Considering that both teams have been in pretty good form of late, everything suggests we will witness a cracking encounter at Estadio Vicente Calderon.

Over the last three years, Atletico Madrid have twice lost in the Champions League final, and it remains to be seen whether they will get a third opportunity to claim the coveted trophy.

Los Colchoneros have only added a couple of new players over the summer, meaning they headed into the new campaign with a virtually unchanged squad.

Atletico Madrid enjoyed a slow start as they shared spoils with newcomers Deportivo Alaves and Leganes, but they have since showed a great deal of improvement.

Los Colchoneros held Barcelona to a 1-1 draw at Camp Nou, while defeating Celta Vigo, PSV Eindhoven, Sporting Gijon and Deportivo La Coruna, so they head into the Bayern clash in great spirits.

Having defeated the Bavarians on home soil last season, Atletico Madrid can be backed at 3.20 (11/5) with Betfred to win this game as well.

Talented defender Jose Maria Gimenez is set to miss around two weeks of action through an adductor injury, while Augusto Fernandez will be out for approximately six months.

Tiago Mendes, Miguel Angel Moya and Alessio Cerci remain on the sidelines, while Gabi and Kevin Gameiro should be recalled.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Oblak – Juanfran, Savic, Godin, Filipe Luis – Saul, Gabi – Griezmann, Koke, Carrasco – Gameiro.

Bayern Munich failed to win the Champions League trophy under Pep Guardiola, with none other than Atletico Madrid standing in their way last season.

Former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti was brought to try and make things right, with Mats Hummels and Renato Sanches added to what was already a star-studded side.

Just like his predecessor did at Manchester City, the Italian manager enjoyed a perfect start to his career at Allianz Arena, leading the Bavarians to eight straight wins.

What is more, Bayern conceded just one goal in the process, so bear in mind they are 3.90 (29/10) to record another win to nil.

The Bavarians are still without Douglas Costa, Fabian Benko and Holger Badstuber, but Mats Hummels should be available after recovering from a minor knee problem.

Bayern Munich have failed to win any of their last three away fixtures in the Champions League, so they will certainly be looking to arrest the trend in Madrid.

Probable starting line-up (4-1-4-1): Neuer – Lahm, Boateng, Martinez, Alaba – Alonso – Muller, Thiago, Vidal, Ribery – Lewandowski.
