Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has said that he is disappointed at the manner of his side’s defeat to Southampton this week.

The Blues suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of the Saints away from home at St. Mary’s Stadium in the Premier League on Tuesday evening.

Raheem Sterling put Chelsea in the lead midway through the first half, but goals from Romeo Lavia and Adam Armstrong saw the home team launch a successful comeback.

Tuchel told Chelsea’s official website: “We are not tough enough to win these away matches at the moment.

“It was the same story at Leeds. At Leeds we thought the problem was we didn’t score in the first 25 minutes, and they pushed us off balance with two goals and we couldn’t find any answers.

“Today we scored, everything was okay, but one set-piece again, one sloppy defending again, and we were off balance.

“We didn’t react. We were lucky not to concede a third goal at the beginning of the second half, and we were not tough enough as a team to react.”

Chelsea will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on West Ham United at Stamford Bridge in London in the Premier League.

The Blues can backed at backed at 13/2 on Betfair to win the London derby 2-1.
