Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has suggested that rumours linking Cristiano Ronaldo with a return to the club could be true.

The Portuguese only left the Spanish giants just under three years ago, bringing to an end a hugely successful period at the Santiago Bernabeu. However, following the Old Lady’s elimination in the Champions League, there were rumours suggesting he could depart Italy and return to his former club, suggestions that have not been refuted by Zidane.

Talking to Sky in Italy, the Frenchman said: “Yes, it may be [true].

“We know Cristiano, we know the person he is and everything he has done here.

“Now, let’s see what the future will be. I was lucky enough to coach him and he is very impressive. Right now, he’s helping Juventus.”

36-year-old Ronaldo is currently in the midst of another highly productive season in Italy having already netted 30 goals in all competitions so far. However, that haul might not be enough to guide Juventus to yet another league crown with Andrea Pirlo’s men currently sitting third and ten points behind leaders Inter Milan in the Serie A standings.

Ronaldo can be backed at a price of 1/4 with William Hill to be named as the top goalscorer in Serie A this season.
