Villarreal vs GetafeThe 4-1 triumph over stuttering Valencia proved Villarreal were becoming serious top 4 contenders, and the Yellow Submarina now have an excellent chance to further increase the advantage over their rivals.

Meanwhile, Getafe ended a four-match winning run as they were beaten at home by Athletic Bilbao, but los Azulones, nonetheless, arrive at El Madrigal in good spirits.

In years preceding the shock of relegation to Segunda, Villarreal had been considered a genuine top 4 side, but nobody believed the Yellow Submarina would be able to return to glory days so quickly upon their return to the elite division.

Nevertheless, Marcelino Garcia Toral’s men took one game at the time and following an impressive start to the season they are again considered serious contenders for Champions League places.

After taking 7 points from first 3 away fixtures, Villarreal did lose their last two matches on the road, but they have again turned their El Madrigal into a real fortress.

While only earning a 2-2 draw having outclassed mighty Real Madrid, the Yellow Submarine won the remaining four home matches, with weekend’s 4-1 triumph over local rivals Valencia the highlight of their campaign.

Given that the hosts are now brimming with confidence, odds of 1.53 (8/15) for a home win look too good to pass up.

While Bojan Jokic and Francisco Farinos remain on the sidelines, boss Marcelino Garcia Toral has no fresh selection worries.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Asenjo – Mario, Musacchio, Dorado, Jaume Costa – Aquino, Bruno, Trigueros, Cani – Dos Santos, Pereira.

Getafe have long ago established themselves as a top table side in La Liga, but they were predicted a difficult season after a number of key men left the club this summer.

Los Azulones indeed had a slow start to the league campaign, winning just one of their first five fixtures, but they quickly showed a considerable improvement.

Luis Garcia’s men recorded straight victories over Celta Vigo, Espanyol, Real Betis and Granada to climb to fifth in the standings, but the good run came to an end last weekend.

Getafe may have outplayed Athletic Bilbao, but they had to settle for a 1-0 defeat after missing a number of clear-cut chances, including a penalty.

Even so, with the team picking up more points than they originally planned, they arrive at El Madrigal in high spirits, meaning both teams to score bet should be considered at 2.00 (1/1).

Important defender Alvaro Arroyo is not yet ready to return, whereas experienced winger Lafita is pushing for a starting berth.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Moya – Valera, Lopez, Rafa, Lago – Borja, Mosquera – Pedro Leon, Sarabia, Castro – Colunga.
