Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos is a doubt for the upcoming Clasico with Barcelona.
The German midfielder has had to withdraw from his national side’s squad for upcoming fixtures against Argentina and Estonia with a groin strain. The 29-year-old picked up the injury in the weekend’s win over Granada and looks set to be out for a minimum of three weeks.
Kroos will almost certainly miss upcoming clashes against Real Mallorca and Galatasaray, with his inclusion in the squad for the clash against FC Barcelona on 26 October a doubt.
A statement from the club read: “After tests carried out today on the player Toni Kroos by the Real Madrid medical services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the adductor in his left leg. His recovery will continue to be assessed.”
The clash at the Camp Nou already looks to be potentially be decisive in the race for the La Liga title. Real Madrid are currently sitting top of the table and undefeated, whilst Barcelona are one place and two points behind.
Despite currently being top, Los Blancos are not the favourites to be victorious come the end of the campaign. Barcelona are more fancied at odds of 8/13 with William Hill, with Real Madrid slightly behind at a price of 6/4.
