Derbi Sevillano may not be one of the most famous derby fixtures in the world, but Sevilla and Real Betis usually go the extra mile to make for an exciting affair.

Sevilla started the league campaign in bright fashion, hinting this could be a breakthrough season for the club, but los Rojiblancos soon started slipping down the La Liga standings.

Having lost four of their last six league games, Michel’s side slipped to the bottom half of the league table, although they are still just two points adrift of European places.

After losing to out-of-form Athletic Bilbao at San Mames, Sevilla are in desperate need of a win, but odds of 1.75 (3/4) offered at Paddy Power on home win do not look too tempting.

Manu del Moral and Alberto Botia are both available for selection after recovering from injury, but Hedwiges Maduro and Diego Perotti are injury doubts.

Jose Antonio Reyes could make it to the starting line-up, but Piotr Trochowski remains a long-term casualty.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Palop – Cicinho, Spahic, Botia, Navarro – Medel, Maduro – Navas, Rakitic, Reyes – Negredo.

Real Betis have enjoyed a memorable start to the league campaign and despite the home defeat to Granada, the team currently sit in fourth place in the standings.

Having been predicted a position in the lower half of the standings, los Verdiblancos are clearly exceeding expectations, but it remains to be seen if they have enough quality to keep the rich vein of form.

Real Betis have had their share of disappointing defeats this season, but they have also recorded some impressive victories in the process, so everything depends on which Betis will turn up at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Pepe Mel’s side go into this game in much better mood than their arch rivals, so odds of 5.25 (17/4) offered on away win at Stan James could be worth a shot.

Juan Carlos and Alex Martinez have recovered from their respective injuries, but Damien Perquis is set for a four-week spell on the sidelines having injured his hamstring.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Adrian – Nelson, Paulao, Nacho, Alex Martinez – Benat, Canas – Ruben Castro, Salva Sevilla, Juan Carlos – Jorge Molina.
