Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has all but confirmed that los Blancos are hot on the trail of Monaco wonderkid Kylian Mbappe.

The 18-year-old quickly became one of Europe’s most sought-after footballers and he already has 19 goals in just 18 starts this term.

Top European clubs are now preparing official proposals for his services, with Real Madrid reportedly leading the chase.

Sergio Ramos appear to be well aware of Mbappe’s qualities and he believes the youngster would be welcomed at Santiago Bernabeu with open arms.

“I do not call the president (Florentino Perez) to consult me about signings, but the gates of Real Madrid are always open for the best players,” Ramos told reporters.

“If you come to Madrid Mbappe, we will welcome you with all the affection as we always do with the new players who arrive.

“But right now it’s a lack respect for those in the squad to get us talking about others who are not from the club.”

Mbappe has helped Monaco reach the Champions League quarter-finals by scoring in both legs against Man City and his side are now 2.50 (3/2) to eliminate Borussia Dortmund and reach the semis.
