Real Sociedad vs VillarrealVillarreal take a one-goal lead into the second leg of the Copa del Rey Last 16 stage clash against Real Sociedad, which should promise us an exciting encounter at Anoeta.

Just two years ago, La Real secured Champions League qualification while their next opponents were playing in the second division, but things have changed considerably since.

While the Yellow Submarine are now in contention for a top 4 finish, Real Sociedad are languishing in the bottom part of the league standings.

The team did show some improvement under new coach David Moyes, and the narrow win over mighty Barcelona was widely expected to kick-start their season.

Nevertheless, Sociedad were then beaten by Villarreal in Copa del Rey, before failing to defeat Granada on the road, so no doubt they are very motivated to return to winning ways.

While he rested a number of first team regulars in the first leg, David Moyes could field a much stronger side at Anoeta, meaning there may be value in odds of 2.90 (19/10) offered on home win.

The hosts will have Esteban Granero and Mikel Bergara back from suspension, while Joseba Zaldua has resumed trailing, but David Zurutuza is out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Zubikarai – Zaldua, Ansotegi, I. Martinez, De La Bella – Granero, Bergara – Prieto, Pardo, Castro – Finnbogason.

Vilarreal have been pretty impressive ever since they returned to the elite division, and this season is going even better than planned.

The Yellow Submarine did well to qualify for the Europa League knockout stages, where they will be facing Red Bull Salzburg, while they currently occupy sixth position in the La Liga standings.

Another European qualification looks on the cards for the El Madrigal outfit and they now have a good chance to also make it to Copa del Rey quarter-finals.

Villarreal completely outclassed Real Sociedad in the first leg and should have probably win the game by a bigger margin, but even the 1-0 scoreline makes them favourites to go through.

With their opponents clearly focused on their league campaign, the Yellow Submarine are 1.22 (2/9) to qualify for the next stage.

While Tomas Pina had his ban reduced, allowing him to face Malaga, Jaume Costa is also available after serving his suspension, but Bojan Jokic remains sidelined.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Asenjo – Rukavina, Dorado, Ruiz, Jaume Costa – Gomez, Pina, Bruno, J. Dos Santos – G. Dos Santos, Moreno.
