Real Madrid have been hit with significant blows ahead of the weekend’s trip to Alaves with both Sergio Ramos and Federico Valverde ruled out with injury.

The defender suffered a knee injury in the recent 2-1 defeat to Athletic Bilbao in the Supercopa Espana, leading him to miss training and the 2-1 reverse at the hands of Alcoyano in the Copa del Rey. His latest problem adds to a list of injury problems that he has suffered with so far, with the 34-year-old having missed eight matches in all competitions with various worries already this season.

Meanwhile, Los Blancos have also confirmed that midfielder Valverde is also set to be out of action for a considerable amount of time having suffered an injury to his adductor muscle in his right leg. It remains to be seen how long the Uruguayan is to be ruled out for but he is certainly out of the trip to Alaves.

The duo join the likes of Rodrygo and Daniel Carvajal on the sidelines, whilst manager Zinedine Zidane is also not able to oversee matches having tested positive for COVID-19.

Real’s upcoming trip to Alaves looks even more key as they aim to avoid three consecutive defeats and get their La Liga title challenge back on track. Zidane’s men can be backed at a price of 1/2 with William Hill to win at the Mendizorrotza Stadium despite their injury problems.
