Real Madrid ‘focused’ on La Liga title

Raphael Varane and his Real Madrid teammates are ‘focused’ on the race for the La Liga crown as the season enters its conclusion, according to the French defender.

Los Blancos currently occupy top spot in the table, four points clear of Barcelona, with just three matches of the season remaining.

Understandably, Zinedine Zidane’s men are favourites with the bookies to win the title at odds as low as 1/16 with William Hill.

However, despite seemingly having one hand on the trophy, Varane has warned against complacency, insisting Real are fully focused on glory.

Talking to El Chiringuito after the team’s recent 2-0 win against Alaves, the Frenchman said: “We are focused on our objective. We have three finals left to play.

“It was important to win and maintain our positive form. We need the whole group to be together, and keep working together.”

Real have been tremendous since the league got underway again. They have won all eight matches since, claiming the lead due to Barcelona’s inconsistency.

Should they last the duration and lift the title, it will be their first title success since 2016/17.

The Spanish giants are also still in the UEFA Champions League but have a 2-1 deficit to turn around against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
