Luis Suarez UruguayUruguayan striker Luis Suarez could be allowed to start the new season with Barcelona, Goal.com has revealed.

The controversial forward was handed a nine-match international ban and suspended for four months from football altogether for biting Giorgio Chiellini, but he, nonetheless, completed a big money move to Barcelona.

And with his new employers deciding to appeal against the ban, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) source has suggested the four-month ban is likely to be reduced.

“Now that the case has arrived at CAS, it is very likely that we will reduce the penalty,” an unnamed source from CAS said.

“The ban would only apply to the Uruguay national team and not to Barcelona.”

The Catalans have done some very good business in the summer transfer window, having also recruited Ivan Rakitic and Jeremy Mathieu while persuading Xavi Hernandez to stay on for another year.

But, with Real Madrid likely to be much stronger than last term, Barcelona are currently priced at 2.20 (6/5) to lift the La Liga title.
