Messi KhediraBarcelona boss Gerardo Martino has received a welcoming boost as Argentine superstar Lionel Messi resumed full training during the international break.

The 26-year-old injured his thigh in a 2-0 win over Almeria some three weeks ago, and has in turn missed victories over Celtic and Real Valladolid.

Messi also missed Argentina’s 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Peru and Uruguay, which has allowed him to fully recover from injury.

The forward joined his teammates for training on Monday, and that is enough to suggest he will be returning into action next weekend when Barcelona face Osasuna away.

Having won first eight league fixtures this season, it is hardly surprising the Catalans are just 1.25 (1/4) to make it nine on the bounce.

Lionel Messi currently trails Atletico’s Diego Costa by two goals in the race for the La Liga top goalscorer, with Cristiano Ronaldo a further goal behind.

Nevertheless, the player who bagged amazing 96 league goals in last two seasons, is 1.62 (5/8) to defend the top goalscorer title.
