Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard has been ruled out of key games against Barcelona and Manchester City through injury.

The former Chelsea man suffered the injury in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Levante in La Liga. It has since been revealed that he has sustsained a fracture to his right ankle and the time frame for his return is unclear.

Hazard is now sure to miss a couple of key games for Zinedine Zidane’s men. First, they take on Manchester City in their UEFA Champions League last-16 first leg at the Bernabeu before they then host Barcelona in a Classico that could potentially decide the destination of the La Liga crown come the end of the campaign, with Real currently sitting two points behind their great rivals.

Hazard’s injury is the latest in a long line of problems he has suffered in Madrid since joining from Chelsea in the summer. He has so far missed 13 league games through various problems, scoring just one goal in all competitions. He had only just made his return from another fracture, making just two appearances before being handed his latest setback.

Surprisingly, Real are underdogs heading into their European tie without Hazard and are available at a price of 7/4 with William Hill to win the first leg at home on Wednesday.
