Barcelona have been handed a blow in their pursuit of the La Liga crown, with Antoine Griezmann potentially ruled out for the rest of the domestic campaign.

The French forward was replaced at half-time in the Blaugrana’s slender 1-0 win at Real Valladolid on Saturday , the reason for which has now been revealed as an injury to his right quadricep.

Griezmann underwent tests on Sunday to determine the severity of the problem and he is now likely to be out for the final two matches of the La Liga campaign as Barca attempt to chase down league leaders Real Madrid.

Quique Setien’s troops sit just one point behind Los Blancos, albeit having played one game more. They still have the likes of Osasuna and Alaves left to play as they aim to overtake Zinedine Zidane’s team and can be backed at a price of 17/2 with Betfair to do just that.

Whilst Barca continue to challenge for the title, Griezmann has failed to find his top form at the Camp Nou since his big-money move from Atletico Madrid exactly a year ago.

The 29-year-old has made 46 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring 15 and assisting a further four. He will hope to be fit in time for the resumption of the UEFA Champions League next month.
