Real Madrid misfit Gareth Bale is set to see out his contract with the Spanish giants rather than moving in the immediate future, according to the midfielder’s agent.

The Welsh wideman has long been linked with a switch away from the Santiago Bernanbeu in the past few seasons, however nothing has materialised.

He has continued to struggle for opportunities throughout the 2019/20 season due to a combination of poor form and injuries having made just 14 appearances in all competitions and scoring twice. That has led to more suggestions he could depart but Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has rubbished those rumours.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “He’s got another two-and-a-half years left on his contract, and he’s fine. He will be there, everything will be fine.

“That’s what I’ve always said. I’ve never deviated from that.

“Things could change but loans are ridiculous. Not many clubs can afford him anyway. He’s happy, and hopefully, win a couple more things with them.”

Despite finding it difficult in Madrid since his move from Tottenham Hotspur, the 30-year-old has added considerably to his trophy cabinet having lifted four UEFA Champions League titles, a La Liga crown and a Copa del Rey.

Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur are the favourite to recruit their former player during the January transfer window and can be backed at 7/4 with William Hill.
