Memphis Depay has suggested that every single player would like to play for Barcelona but in the mean time is fully focused on his form for Lyon.

The Dutch forward was linked with a move to the Catalan giants throughout the summer transfer window, with compatriot Ronald Koeman reportedly hugely interested in bringing him to the Camp Nou.

A move did not end up happening but the 26-year-old former Manchester United man reportedly remains on the club’s shortlist.

He says that whilst he could be interested in representing the Spanish giants in the future, his focus remains fully on current employers Lyon.

Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, Depay said: “The transfer market is not open. I’m trying to do my best, to put in good performances and become a better player. There’s a lot of speculation about it.

“Who wouldn’t want to play [at Barcelona]? It’s one of the best teams in the world. Everyone would like it, but I’m not thinking about that.”

Away from club football, Depay will be in action for his country this weekend as the Netherlands go up against Bosnia & Herzegovina in the UEFA Nations League. He sits at a price of 7/2 with Betfred to net the opening goal of the game.
