Cordoba vs La CorunaBottom-placed Cordoba are still searching for the first win of the season and they hope to record it against Deportivo and instantly leave the relegation zone.

La Coruna ended the good run as they were beaten at home by Getafe, but they now have a chance to create a significant advantage over their relegation rivals.

Cordoba had a pretty disappointing start to the league campaign, taking mere four points from first eight fixtures, and coach Albert Ferrer eventually paid the price, with Miroslav Djukic replacing him.

The former Real Valladolid and Valencia boss seems to have helped the players restore some of the lost confidence, with los Blanquiverdes showing some improvement in matches against Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid.

However, Cordoba are still on the lookout for the first win of the season and they are 2.40 (7/5) to finally end the barren run.

Captain Abel Gomez has suffered a groin injury in training and faces a fitness test ahead of the Deportivo clash, but Jose Angel Crespo returns from a hamstring problem.

Meanwhile, Edu Campabadal and Jose Carlos are stepping up their recovery but are unlikely to be in contention for starting places.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Juan Carlos – Bouzon, I. Lopez, Pantic, Pinillos – Cartabia, Luso, Lopez Garai, Fidel – Ghilas, Xisco.

Deportivo La Coruna have endured some tough times on their return to the elite division, although the Galician side seem to be slowly returning to the right track.

Victor Fernandez’s charges ended a four-match losing streak in style having hammered high-flying Valencia 3-0 at their Riazor.

The goalless draw at Espanyol that ensued hinted Deportivo will continue to climb the La Liga standings, but the good run of results proved short-lived.

La Coruna were surprisingly beaten at home by Getafe and they now need to try and make things right by winning at Cordoba, where away win pays 3.40 (12/5).

Coach Victor Fernandez has confirmed his side will adopt a counter-attacking approach in Cordoba, as he currently has several important players on the sidelines.

Diogo Salomao has resumed training, but he will not be in contention, just like Luis Farina, Lucas Perez, Toche and Isaac Cuenca.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Fabricio – Juanfran, Insua, Sidnei, Luisinho – Medunjanin, Wilk – Dominguez, Bergantinos, Cavaleiro – Postiga.
