Barcelona have reportedly begun talks over the prospect of signing Sergio Aguero ahead of the 2021/22 season.
The Argentine forward has already announced that he is going to leave Manchester City come the end of the current campaign with his contract running down.
He has been linked a number of clubs including both Barcelona and Chelsea but it appears that the Catalans are attempting to steal a march on their potential rivals.
According to Sky Sports, they have begun tentative talks with the striker over a move to Spain.
Whilst a deal is yet to be agreed, the reports suggest that Barcelona are hopeful of partnering Aguero with Lionel Messi who they are also attempting to convince to sign a new contract at the Camp Nou.
Should Aguero agree to a move, it would signal his first return to Spain in a decade having previously represented Atletico Madrid before his big-money move to Manchester City in 2011.
In all, he has made 387 appearances to date for the Premier League outfit and scored 258 goals, a club record.
As it stands, it is indeed Barcelona who are favourites to sign the 32-year-old at a price of 4/11 with Betfair. Meanwhile, Chelsea are somewhat less fancied at 9/2.
