Barcelona have reportedly offered Lionel Messi a bumper ten-year contract to remain at the Camp Nou.

The Argentine superstar, who has only ever represented the Catalans throughout his career, is out of contract in June and could leave the Spanish giants on a free transfer.

He has been able to discuss a move to a foreign club since January, whilst he also looked set to leave last summer following a very public disagreement with the club.

However, Barcelona have now made one last move to keep him in Spain with Deportes Cuatro indicating that he has now been offered a ten-year deal by the club but at only half the wage.

It remains to be seen whether the Argentine forward will accept the offer but Barca will certainly be desperate for him to do so.

In 774 appearances for the club, the 33-year-old has scored 668 and provided 292 assists. In that time, he has helped the club to four UEFA Champions League titles and ten La Liga crowns.

As it stands, Messi is in fact most fancied to stay at Barcelona in the future. The Catalan giants can be backed at a price of 3/10 with Betfair to be his employers come the the closure of the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, Manchester City can be backed at 4/1 to sign him.
